This storied river passes through the heart of Tomahawk. A series of dams built more than a century ago harnessed the river’s power and created expansive recreation areas. Lake Alice and Lake Mohawksin are products of this effort. Paddlers who wish to traverse the area will find portage routes near these dams facilitate longer journeys. On summer evenings, the Kwahamot Waterski Club performs shows on the Wisconsin River. You’ll find them performing in the heart of Tomahawk in Kwahamot Bay on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
